   I’m not sure I get this “wisdom”. Captain Obvious has greater quotes of wisdom, such as: “If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it must be a duck.”

   I thought that was Senator McCarthy’s line. badaboom. No really though we have to remember that these were first published in the thirties when folk wisdom was in a more primitive state. Many of our most common sayings were not in the advanced state that they are now, for example that old saw, “A penny saved is a penny earned.” was then written, “A penny saved is a Helluva lot of money!” and the now cliched “Waasssuuuup!” was then written, “Good day to you Sir”.
